Joe Claus was born in South San José in 1975. He currently resides in downtown San José while working in the Bay Area. He graduated from San José State University in December of 2007 with a B.A. in Photography and a B.A. in Industrial Design. His first monograph entitled "My Neighbors: A Tribute to the Smaller Side of Silicon Valley Business." (read a press release written by Lorraine Oback here) has been published in JPGmag, Lightleak, and Reed magazines. Exhibition credits include San José’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library, Kaleid and Works Galleries. His second monograph photographed and published for Content-Magazine.com is named "Let Go", it highlights the people who have been laidoff in Silicon Valley.  In 2009, the artist plans to continue "Let Go", "My Neighbors", he is seeking funding through grants and sponsorships to advance "My Neighbors" and Joe plans to host exhibitions at local venues.

Photography:  Mastered digital and film formats; 35mm, medium format, and large format photography; darkroom techniques encompassing traditional black and white, zone system techniques, color, as well as digital printing with Epson's 4800 and 9600 ink jet printers; commanded studio strobes, hot lights, and other assorted studio equipment; organized and documented multiple group and solo exhibitions.
Software:  Broad knowledge in software applications including advanced Photoshop techniques, Illustrator, InDesign, AutoCad, & Solidworks.
